We are here to promote a love of baseball, provide instruction for improving skills appropriate to age level and to use Little League as a vehicle for teaching life lessons that will help in the development of healthy, happy, self confident adults.
Santa Cruz Little League - Post Season Information
Tournament of Champions
Santa Cruz Little League will send 4 teams to District 39’s Tournament of Champions – two Majors teams (American & National division) and two AAA teams (American & National division). These teams, the winners of our playoffs, play in a double-elimination tournament against the winners of other local leagues. As every team in Majors and AAA makes the playoffs, every team has a chance to go to the TOC.
All Stars/Tournament Teams
All players aged 8 - 12 as of August 31, 2017 (December 31, 2017 for 10 and below) are eligible for consideration for All Star/Tournament team selection. If you are unavailable or do not want to be considered, please email the Player Agent at
. Players are chosen by a combination of voting by their peers (12 year old team only) and nomination and voting by the Managers in their division. Criteria for All Star selection is sportsmanship, skill, coachability and availability. In addition, each player must be able to provide an original birth certificate and 3 proofs of residency dated between February 1, 2016 and February 1, 2017 or have a residency waiver form on file.
SCLL will have 11 post season tournament teams organized by age: 13 (Intermediate) 12 (Majors), 11, 10, 9 and 8 and division: National and American. The Intermediate, 12, 11 and 10 year old teams are considered the Official Little League All-Star Teams representing Santa Cruz Little League. All other teams are referred to as Tournament Teams. The 12-year-old team is the team that has an opportunity to go to Williamsport for the Little League World Series and the Intermediate team has an opportunity to go to the World Series in Pleasanton, CA. Other Tournament teams can play to various levels of District, Section, and Division/State levels.
All Star/Tournament teams may not be announced until two weeks prior to the start of the tournaments. The 2017 Tournament Teams (7/8's & 8/9's) will be announced on May 21st and the All Star Teams (10, 11, 12's) will be announced on June 1st.
The commitment of All-Star managers/coaches, players and parents is not to be underestimated. Most teams practice daily for two weeks prior to the two week tournaments. Eligible players and parents will be asked to verify availability during the tournament dates as well as potential tournaments beyond the first should the team win.
